Yes, yes. I know it’s been a while, but I finally polished up Episode 22 and will be recording it this weekend. You’ll get to have it on Monday morning, as usual.
Also, stay tuned for more changes to the blog theme. This one, unfortunately, has some issues I don’t feel like dealing with. I’ve been working on my personal blog over at The Evil Eyebrow and with some modifciations, I’ll probably use that theme. Then I don’t have to worry about two different sets of headers, stylesheets, etc.

The Theme I had originally installed on Talking Traffic was dissatsifying me. So I’ve changed it. What do you think?
I plan to alter the header image to something more transportation-engineering centric, eventually, but until then it’s a nice picture.

Regarding last night’s PEBKAC posting, I’ve made a couple changes which should have my Itunes feed showing the most recent 30 episodes. That will give me 13 weeks to figure out category posting, or some other method to make sure that older episodes are available to people who want to hear them. As things change, I’ll let you know.
For now, episodes 1-17 should all be available via Itunes.

I’ve discovered a PEBKAC error on the itunes feed for talking traffic.
I’m only sending 10 episodes through the xml code to itunes. As I’m up to 16 (17 at midnight tonight), that’s a problem.
I’m working the issue right now. Hopefully I’ll have it fixed soon.

Over lunch I thrashed out the outline of some upcoming episodes:
- Speed, Speeding, and Speed Limits
- Functional Classification: Why you can’t put a driveway on an Interstate
- 511 Traveller’s Information System
- Autonomous Vehicles and the Wire(less)d Roadside Enviroment
No particular order, although Functional Classification will probably be next week.

I’m testing a new blog posting software called BlogDesk. It is intended for people who wish to post to multiple blogs simultaneously.
It seems to be working.

You may notice that the sound quality of the last podcast sort of…well…sucks. This is a result of continued experimentation with my equipment. After this non-optimal result, I’m going to make it a habit to download the podcast to my Ipod and listen to it before I post. That way I can at least have a chance at fixing it before it goes up. I’ll probably pull this one off tonight and replace it with a more quality piece of soundcraft. Assuming I can make it better without re-recording it.
My apologies, and the next edition will be better.

I stated several weeks ago that I was going to hold to an every-two-weeks schedule on the podcast. Well, I’m breaking that schedule this week. To make up for it, I’ll do my best to have two podcast out over the next two weeks. The next episode will be on Roundabouts, and I’ll take suggestions for the one after that.

Tonight at midnight, 0000 local time August 6, the first episode of the Talking Traffic podcast will be up. What does this mean?
- Most of the traffic- and transportation-themed postings at The Evil Eyebrow will now be posted here instead (possibly crossposted back to The Eyebrow).
- This blog/podcast will be undergoing tweaking for thematic purposes, and suggestions are appreciated. I realize that the format is a bit plain at the moment.
- I intend this to be a twice monthly podcast, but you know how things go with respect to time. Perhaps they will come faster, maybe slower.
- Any suggestions that people have regarding topics are also greatly appreciated. I happen to know what I like to discuss, but I’m an industry insider and may not have the best grasp on what somebody looking in from outside would be fascinated by.
Please alert me if you find anything on the site that is broken or confusing. I hope you enjoy the podcasts!

If you see this post, If this is the only visible posting, it’s because this site is not up and running yet. Soon, this will be the home for a Podcast featuring discussions of traffic issues such as Traffic Calming, Roundabouts, Highway Construction, Tolling, Public-Private Initiatives, and all sorts of other things. Please try again soon. I expect there will be things to see by the second week of August.
