Hey JohnS! I haven't seen anything about motorcycles being specifically left out of Intelligent Transportation System design. If you could give me more specifics, that would be great (or even copies of the articles).

I've heard complaints that motorcycles aren't picked up by inductive signal detectors (pavement loops). That can be both a maintenance/construction problem as well as a motorcycle driver education issue. Again, any additional detail you could send me with respect to the Motorcycle Consumer News would help me answer your question.

Hey Bill. Listened to the podcast on pedestrians, now see that bicyclists are feeling like second class citizens. As a motorcyclist, I've got only a little more protection than a bicyclist since I gear up properly, but all the speed of a full-on car. I've read a couple of articles in Motorcycle Consumer News by Fred Rau that tie in with your last podcast on intelligent transportation system design for pedestrians, but state that system designers are leaving out motorcyclists... Can you confirm or deny this? How about a future episode on the considerations of going to ITS; who's in and who's out? I know, it could be too much, but if anyone can distill it it's you. Cheers!
